Mission Statement
 
It is the mission of the Nye County Sheriff's Office to work with the citizens of our community to preserve life, maintain human rights, protect property, and promote individual responsibility and community commitment. This teamwork effort is the move of the future.
 
Philosophy
Crime and public safety are community problems. Therefore, citizens and the law enforcement community must work together to solve them. It is imperative to develop a community policing program based on a partnership between the police and the community whereby, together, neighborhood problems are solved and the quality of life is enhanced.
 
Values
The dominant values of the Nye County Sheriff's Office are a commitment to employees and a commitment to quality services. As a department and as individuals, whereas we believe in respect for the human dignity of our employees. We require that supervisors and peers treat each other fairly, honestly and equally. Through our commitment to quality service, we will meet the public safety needs of the community, recognizing the values of fairness, equality, and the respect for human dignity.
